Botulism

I didn't think I was going to post again for a little while, but I just found out the cause of death.

Botulism - it is a bacterial infection caused by ingesting dead animal matter or rotting plant matter. The babies having been keen explorers, I'm sure had a good ol' munch on some rotting carcass. Their pen is so muddy and there is so much rotting leaves that I'm sure that's what it was.

I'm leaving the chickens penned so they too don't die. The boy ducks are just sitting on the grass near the mangoes waiting for the girls to return. This morning when I let them out they ran around looking for them, even going back to the place I found Katcsa.

You know I always thought I was going to get ducklings out of the girls.
